Welcome

We all hold within us the potential to thrive. I aim to support you in achieving this so you can live a happier and more fulfilling life going forward, regardless of what you have faced in the past.

By connecting with our emotions, we can better understand, process, and heal from the challenges that we face in life. Often, we try to (or feel we should) do this on our own, but this can leave us feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in old patterns, and feeling alone.

In our sessions together, we will gently and compassionately explore your situation in a supportive environment, so you can make the changes that feel right for you.

Corinne Richards
Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I am a UKCP accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I provide counselling for adults, with online sessions available throughout the UK and in-person appointments in Norwich. I can offer support with feelings of anxiety, depression, bereavement & loss, life adjustments, burnout, stress, and trauma.

I have a particular interest in supporting people living with chronic health conditions such as Cancer, ME/CFS, Long Covid, MS etc. as living with a long-term health condition can impact far more than your physical health. You may be grieving the life you expected, struggling with uncertainty, changes in identity, work, relationships or isolation. Counselling offers a space where these experiences can be explored with compassion.

Therapeutic Philosophy

Counselling offers a space to talk freely, reflect, and grow. Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling facilitates this by drawing on a number of traditional and contemporary theories to address your individual needs. I include humanistic, psychodynamic, behavioural, and embodied approaches as I believe each have something to offer. Our work together will be grounded in compassion and self-acceptance, helping you to develop a kinder relationship with yourself and your experiences.

Believing in working to high ethical standards, along with maintaining accreditation with the UKCP, I also hold an enhanced DBS certificate, I am credentialed by Mind, and I attend regular clinical supervision and ongoing training.

We can work on an ongoing basis rather than being limited to a set number of sessions. This is an approach that is well-suited for those seeking support with depression, anxiety, and trauma as we can take the time to move at a pace that feels right for you, building a therapeutic relationship that is safe and trauma informed.

Many clients choose to have online appointments as they value being able to access counselling from the comfort of home, especially if pain or fatigue is a barrier to travelling. For those that would like to attend in person, my office in central Norwich offers a discreet, private, and calm space.

About Me

Coming from a background in domiciliary care, I trained at Matrix College of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BSc Hons). Alongside private practice I have also volunteered for a cancer support charity that is close to my heart for a number of years.

I  was drawn to becoming a counsellor after experiencing first-hand how helpful counselling can be. I learnt that I don’t have to face the challenges of life alone, and I believe you don’t have to either.

Appointments available. I am currently accepting new clients for counselling, if you'd like to discuss whether we are a good fit, please get in touch to arrange an initial consultation.
